Well Being

February 10, 2024

In today's challenging educational landscape, fostering the well-being of school staff and students is more crucial than ever. Recognizing this need, HealthyNorthland is partnering with the Northeast Service Cooperative, our Northeast AlcoholTobacco and Other Drugs (ATOD) Prevention Coordinator, St. Louis CountyPublic Health, and a trauma responsive practice coordinator in the Duluth School District to host an online Community of Practice that brings together participants from various schools and organizations across Northeast Minnesota.

Some identified goals of this group include:

-Facilitate a platform for experts in the field of education and mental health to share insights and best practices.

-Provide a space for professionals to connect, collaborate, and discuss challenges and solutions.

-Offer attendees resources and tools to assist with applying strategies the classroom.

This group will continue to meet monthly through the spring, offering presentations from speakers on topics such as stress management, resilience building, de-escalation skills, and more. In addition, this group intends to set aside networking and interactive workshop time for participants to exchange ideas and discuss common challenges. The importance of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and networking in promoting mental health in schools cannot be understated. We are committed to continuing these efforts and expanding our reach to support a larger community of educators and mental health professionals. Reach out if you have questions or would like a virtual invite to the next Community of Practice gathering.
